[Steel Output] EU-28 crude steel output rises marginally in June

CANTERBURY (Scrap Monster): According to the recent data published by the World Steel Association (World steel), the crude steel production by EU-28 countries were up marginally by 1.7% during the month of June year-on-year. The output by the region totaled 14.631 Million tonnes during the month.

Germany recorded the highest output during the month of June. The country produced 3.769 Million tonnes during the month, which is higher by 5.8% when compared with the country’s output of 3.562 Million tonnes during June 2014. On a year-on-year basis, Hungary recorded the biggest jump in production. Hungarian crude steel output surged 85.9% in June ’15 over the previous year.

The lowest output was by Croatia. The total crude steel output by Croatia climbed higher by 32.6% from 15,000 tonnes in June 2014 to 20,000 tonnes in June this year.

Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Finland, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia, the UK and other EU-28 region recorded increased year-on-year crude steel production. Sweden recorded the biggest decline in crude steel output in June ‘15, falling by 35.1% when compared with the previous year.
